I was so honored when just moments before I crowned the new Miss Cape Shores I was presented with an American flag that was flown over the United States Capitol on my behalf. Tonight, my Dad, a United States Air Force Veteran, taught me how to properly fold the flag, so that I can display it in the special case my Mom gave to me. This picture shows my newly displayable flag and the flag my family received on behalf of my Grandfather’s service in the United States Army— so proud to be an American and so grateful to have been the recipient of such a meaningful gesture.
